Tampa-Based Digital Marketing Firm Bluleadz CEO Eric Baum Featured in the Latest Elevate Today Podcast Episode

Eric Baum, CEO of Tampa based digital marketing firm Bluleadz, recently appeared on the most recent episode of the Elevate Today Podcast. The Elevate Today podcast is a show hosted by Elevate Inc. CEO Aakash Patel that showcases outstanding entrepreneurs and business and community leaders.

Eric Baum founded Bluleadz in 2009 after realizing the power of HubSpot as a marketing tool for businesses. Bluleadz has since grown to thirty-five employees. Bluleadz offers digital marketing with a focus on ROI as well as inbound lead generation. Specifically, they specialize in the marketing software HubSpot and focus on the entire growth cycle of your business, not just marketing. An ideal client for Bluleadz is a business to business national company looking to increase revenue through digital marketing.

Eric was entirely self-taught when it came to digital marketing, and he told us that while he did have individuals he leaned on throughout the growth of his business, he never had one specific mentor. He recommended the book “Get A Grip: An Entrepreneurial Fable” by Gino Wickman as a great way to organize your business through the application of the entrepreneurial operating system.

Eric talked about the difficulties of COVID-19 and specifically the hard decision he had to make as a leader to cut nine employees, “I learned you need to cut once and cut deep, because if you don’t then it’s a slow attrition of clients and team members. I made those phone calls myself. And we were able to bring those employees back within two months.” Eric went on to set out his five year vision of Bluleadz which included 100 to 150 employees. “The second half of this year our growth trajectory has been phenomenal and everyone is reevaluating their in person trade show budgets and moving it all to digital.”

“One of the reasons we’re located in Tampa is because I need talented tech people. We recruit out of the schools here like USF.” Eric told us. “We’ve even partnered with CareerSource and got a training grant to help offset some of the costs of training new employees.” Eric is also involved with the CEOs to Schools program and the Westshore Alliance to help give back to our community.
