Shilen Patel Wins Indian Advisory Council Community Leader Award

Congratulations to Shilen Patel for receiving the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Indian Advisory Council Community Leader Award! This award is given for outstanding service to the Tampa Bay community throughout the year. Shilen has chaired multiple events and organizations in 2018 and 2019, received 40 under 40 recognition from TBBJ, and has a history of being actively engaged within our Indian-American community.

Shilen is also chairing a new nonprofit focused on Tampa’s Innovation District called The Community Enrichment Lab (The CEL). The CEL’s mission is to convert the intellect and innovation of the District’s businesses and institutions into transformational opportunities to improve the lives and prospects of the area’s residents and stakeholders. Their goal is to instill distinct and vibrant civic identity by maximizing the community’s potential to alleviate generational poverty, optimize health & wellness, and promoting social enterprise, local entrepreneurship, and urban renewal.

We as a Tampa Bay Community are so eager to see The CEL’s mission in action and implemented in the very near future. Another example of how Shilen is a leader and authentication of receiving the HCSO Indian Advisory Council Community Leader Award.

It’s humbling and exciting to join outstanding past winners of this award.  I thank SIAC for the recognition and extend my gratitude to Sheriff Chad Cronister, HCSO, and our entire law enforcement community for their commitment.  Although I am being recognized as a “community leader”, I see myself as a community servant. I am excited about the unique opportunities I have had to serve in the past year, and for the chances to do my part for the Tampa Bay area. – Shilen Patel
