February 25th, the Tampa Microsoft Entrepreneur Event featured our President Aakash Patel on the discussion panel. Other panelist were Rachel Carpenter, founder of a financial data company called Intrinio, and Monica Eaton-Cardone the active CIO and co-founder of Global Risk Technologies, Chargebacks911.com and eConsumerServices.com. The event was held at the new Microsoft Store in the International Plaza and hosted by the excellent employees at that location.
With start-up entrepreneurs in the audience, Aakash Patel shared the story of how he recognized a growing need in the Tampa Bay community for entrepreneurs to get connected and he was able to create his business around that. Monica Eaton-Cardone talked about the importance of relationships and empowering people by encouraging them and working together. Overcoming frustration and mistakes was something Rachel Carpenter said is vital that every entrepreneur learn to do.
Everybody on the panel spoke of accepting failure instead of fighting it. By using failure to grow you will learn over time what not to do and how to be successful. Rachel even said that she welcomes failure, not because she strives for it, but because she is able to adjust her business accordingly and make improvements.
What a great night! Don’t forget to stop by the new Microsoft store at the International Plaza!
