Joel Ramos, an Audit Senior Manager with BDO USA, LLP, has been accepted into Leadership Tampa Bay (LTB) for the 2017 class. LTB is a non-profit organization comprised of an independent board of directors. It is funded through scholarships and tuition with all proceeds going towards programs for current members and alumni. Leadership Tampa Bay strives to enhance awareness, education and knowledge on issues in the Tampa Bay community.

The courses focus on bringing community leaders and business executives together to discuss critical issues. At the end of LTB, graduates are prepared to seek and affect change in the Tampa region.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Ramos moved to Tampa in 2013. He is involved in the community through the Lakeland Economic Development Council, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and his church. His company, BDO, gives the Tampa Bay area access to quality audit, tax and consulting services.

Ramos heard about Leadership Tampa Bay through his boss who attended a past class year. He is excited to network by getting to know key personnel in different fields and industries. The opportunity to network opens up opportunities to get to know the area from the inside out.

“Nothing comes easy,” says Ramos. “In order to be successful in anything, you have to work hard, be committed and take responsibility.”

Ramos is looking forward to being a part of Leadership Tampa Bay while continuing to become a larger part of the community.
