iCARE™ is Making an Impact on Tampa!

iCARE™ is a multilateral platform dedicated to building a representative, equitable, and inclusive BankUnited. The iCARE™ Program stands for being an Inclusive Community of Advocacy, Respect, and Equality for BankUnited and for the communities BankUnited impacts. One of the programs iCARE™ is most proud of is their internship program. iCARE™ currently has two ten-week internships throughout the year. The Senior Internship is for thosestudents who are in their last year of college or have recently graduated. The summer internship is for students in their junior year and selected students are also awarded a two-year scholarship. iCARE’s goal is to provide college students with firsthand experience expand their professional network and support their professional development.

iCARE™ has a partnership with Miami Dade College, Florida International University, Florida Memorial University, Florida A&M University, Farmingdale State College and Medgar Evers College. With the support and leadership of Mario Llaralde, Commercial Banking Regional Market Executive, we are thrilled to now partner with University ofSouth Florida and welcome a USF student to the BankUnited Team. The 2023-2024 BankUnited iCARE™ Scholarship and internship has been awarded to Sha’Tina Scott. Sha’Tina is currently perusing her bachelor’s in accounting and will be graduating in 2025.
