Fried to spotlight during session with Elevate’s Aakash Patel how Florida’s $104 Billion Agriculture Industry is ripe for innovation
TAMPA, Fla – Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried is making a stop in Tampa to speak at the city’s annual Synapse Summit at Amalie Arena beginning February 11.
The Summit is designed to gather innovators, entrepreneurs, and executives to invigorate the region and state’s innovation ecosystem. Fried, along with serial founder and experienced AgTech investor Candice Rezvanian will speak February 11th at 2pm on Main Stage #2 about how technology can help grow Florida’s $104 billion agriculture industry.
The goal of Synapse is to get key influencers under one roof to encourage new connections and business ventures. It’s something Aakash Patel, CEO and Founder of Elevate, Inc., knows firsthand. His Tampa-based consulting company helps entrepreneurs with strategy and networking. Patel will host the session with Fried and Rezvanian.

Agriculture in Florida employs 2 million people and contributes more than $104 billion to the state’s economy, and nearly $1 trillion in the United States. Florida supplies 40% of the world’s orange juice supply and 80% of the fresh vegetables consumed in the US in the winter months.
Fried will talk about how the industry must keep innovating to meet the challenges of a growing population, labor shortages and impacts of climate change. Florida’s agriculture industry is “ripe” for investment and innovation.
Synapse Summit 2019 had nearly 5,500 innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals in attendance. This was almost double last 2018’s figures. This year’s Synapse will include a variety of exhibiting companies, breakout sessions, and insightful presentations by some of the nation’s most influential business leaders.
