Tampa Businessman Aakash Patel raises over $30,000 in first month as candidate for Hillsborough County Commission

TAMPA, FL—Today, Tampa small businessman and Chairman of the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, Aakash Patel announced raising more than $30,000 in the first month of his campaign for Hillsborough County Commission, District 1. District 1 runs from Keystone south to Ruskin and contains much of Tampa, including MacDill Air Force Base.

“I am grateful to my family, friends, and supporters who believe in our vision for Hillsborough County and have donated early to my campaign. Their support means the world to me. Our vision for Hillsborough County is connecting with the residents of District 1, and I look forward to continuing to reach out to all those that call this community home,” Patel said.

Patel’s first month of fundraising includes an additional $20,000 that he loaned to kickstart his campaign. This brings his campaign’s first month total fundraising to over $50,000.

Patel further said, “Those that know me best know how passionate I am about this community. The people, families, members of our military, and small businesses in this area are what motivated me to enter this campaign. They are the heart of this community, and they deserve their next Commissioner to be someone who will fight for the issues they care about and for a better Hillsborough County.”

Patel will hold his first official campaign fundraiser on Tuesday, July 25th from 6-8pm at the Westin Tampa Bay. With more campaign events lined up Patel will continue to share his vision for Hillsborough County and the issues important to District 1. For more information please visit www.Patel2018.com
