Vsummits is Making a Positive Impact on Our Community One Event at a Time

Vsummits, a local virtual event management team had the opportunity to make a true impact on our community during a tough time for all. On Saturday, November 7th Vsummits hosted a virtual event known as “Worth the Fight ATRT Rally”. This rally gathered individuals to fight against childhood cancer! “Dr. Kosj and Jaymi Yamoah started Hope4ATRT after walking through their own cancer journey as a family. In 2015 their almost three-year-old son, Zion, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer known as Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT). Even as an oncologist himself, Dr. Yamoah was dismayed to learn how limited resources were for this rare disease. After the devastating loss of Zion, his parents were compelled to help fund innovative research, and be a resource for families in the fight against ATRT.” Vsummits created a platform that was like none other, so the participants felt fully engaged throughout the entire event. There was an opening reception scavenger hunt and silent auction that occurred with full engagement of the guests. The event also had amazing guest speakers, Dr. Santhosh Upadhyaya (St. Jude) and Dr. Annie Huang (Sick Kids, Toronto) that provided deep information about childhood cancer and the research that continues to be completed. This shows that while times are different, we should continue to strive for a stronger community together.
