The Hillsborough County Tax Collector recently hired Glenn Beckmann as their new Director of Communications & Community Relations.

Glenn brings extensive experience in marketing and communications leadership. Most recently, he served at the Global and National Security Institute at the University of South Florida, where he was one of the institute’s founding employees and built its communications and marketing function from the ground up. Before that, he spent 13 years as Director of Marketing Communications for Schutt Sports, helping grow the company into the world’s second-leading football helmet manufacturer.

Glenn’s career began in television and radio, where he hosted morning drive shows and called play-by-play for a variety of school and community teams after graduating from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. As his career shifted toward marketing and communications, he has carried the same guiding challenge across every organization he has served: connecting brands with the audiences that matter most to them and showing those audiences why the work matters to them.

Glenn spent most of his life in the St. Louis area before relocating to Florida in 2021. He and his wife, Gieta, have been married for 30 years, and the couple has two adult daughters. One is a nurse in Tampa, and the other works in medical device sales in Charlotte. Outside of work, Glenn enjoys cooking and golf, and he remains a devoted St. Louis Blues fan, though he’ll cheerfully claim the Lightning count too, since they share the same blue!
