Please join #Team Elevate in welcoming our newest intern, KJ Kwak. KJ, originally from Suwon, South Korea, moved to the Bay area in 2011. She’s a junior at the University of South Florida, where she’s majoring in marketing.
Proud of her South Korean heritage, KJ believes that the time she spent in South Korea enables her to bring unique perspectives to the organization. She’s intentional in staying abreast of social media trends overseas versus strictly focusing on domestic companies.
KJ has experience serving as an interpreter at large-scale events. Fluent in Korean, she was hired by Kallman Worldwide Inc. to act as a host and interpreter at an event attended by more than 260,000 people. KJ also worked as a volunteer, providing interpreting services, during the 2016 Rotary International Convention in Seoul, South Korea. With 50,000 attendees, hailing from over 160 countries, KJ knows how to host a large crowd.
During her internship with Elevate, KJ is focused on learning how to implement strategic marketing plans and effectively approach unique business problems. She’s thankful she has the opportunity to experience what she reads about in textbooks in the real world setting. KJ looks forward to the professional growth opportunities that attending events as a part of #TeamElevate will present her. She knows the importance of each improving networking skills and putting herself in new situations.
KJ is an active college student. She’s a member of the Young Leaders division of Seoul Rotary Club, District 3650. She’s also a member of the Royal Asiatic Society. Finding time for play is an important part of life, and KJ enjoys playing the piano, swimming, and golfing. There’s more: she is Aerial Yoga certified. #TeamElevate is ecstatic to have such a dynamic intern on board.
