Team Elevate’s Miranda Shares the Power of Giving Back to Tampa Bay

As a Tampa native, Miranda values the community deeply. Growing up she was apart of many organizations such as the National Honor Society which dedicated time to the community through volunteer work. From a young age she enjoyed being hands on and making an impact. “Regardless if I was assisting with building a new home for a family in need or picking up trash at local parks the impacts both big and small left me fulfilled”, claimed Miranda. Throughout the years she has continued to involve herself directly with the community. This year Miranda has taken volunteer work as a personal goal and held herself accountable to transforming lives.

The impacts of COVID-19 have been terrible on many individuals in our community. So many families have been left with no food on the table or income to bay their bills. Miranda wanted to spread some holiday cheer, so she teamed up with Our Daily Bread and Tampa Bay Harvest to do so. Our Daily Bread a not-for-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt organization with a mission to permanently eliminate hunger and homelessness in the Tampa Bay area. They have partnered with Tampa Bay Harvest to supply a FREE grocery store to the community… that’s right, anyone and everyone can come by this grocery store and shop for what they need with no questions asked. This year both nonprofits got in touch with the American Legion to collect food donations to serve Veterans in need. “Every day nearly 1,000 Soldiers, Sailors and Marines become new U.S. Veterans. On any given night, more than 300,000 Veterans are living on the streets or in shelters in the U.S. Approximately 33% of homeless males in the U.S. are Veterans. We believe it is our duty to give back to our nation’s military Veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country”, feels Our Daily Bread Tampa Bay.

Over twenty Veterans received a full Thanksgiving meal this year! These meals included a full turkey, delicious sides and even desserts. Miranda spent her Sunday gathering these donations and preparing them for the deserving Veterans. “To take a few hours out of my weekend and work for individuals who sacrificed so much for all of us was a no brainer for me. It was amazing to meet Tom from American Legions and hear his story and see his radiation of happiness beaming. I am forever thankful I live in a community that goes above and beyond and am amazed daily at the lives being transformed by Our Daily Bread Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay Harvest. I encourage you to look into both organizations and after reading their mission you will understand they are 100% dedicated to our community. These individuals work countless hours and receive NO pay. They show up week after week because they know the community is benefiting every day from their dedication. I am honored to surround myself with such selfless volunteers and hope others will get involved in the best way that suits them”, said Miranda. We are proud to have a team member such as Miranda who cares about our community and even more proud of the work done by Our Daily Bread Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay Harvest.
