Tastes in the Tampa Bay Area Soar to New Heights

As champion for the community, Pilot Bank is doing its part to support this year’s Taste of New Tampa & Wesley Chapel. While Tampa locals often consider South Tampa as a hot spot for culinary excellence, New Tampa is establishing itself as another bay area zip code worth culinary enthusiasts’ time. Pilot Bank’s Rob Montgomery, Market Leader at the New Tampa banking center, has enjoyed the event for several years. The event, brought to life by the Rotary Club of New Tampa and the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce, gives all proceeds to charities supported by the Rotary Club of New Tampa and the GWCCC.

Pilot Bank encourages its associates to be active members of organizations in the community that give back. Montgomery is a proud member of the Rotary and explains that the nonprofit 501c3 organization was “founded to apply the ideal of ‘service above self’ to impact the lives of people in our community and to support Rotary International’s global service efforts.” He’s glad to know that proceeds from the Taste of New Tampa & Wesley Chapel event benefit Feeding America Tampa Bay, which is the signature project of the Rotary Club of New Tampa.

Beyond supporting good causes, Taste of New Tampa and Wesley Chapel offers up good fare and good times. Hosted by Florida Hospital Center Ice, home to the US Women’s Hockey Team, thousands attended last year’s event. Patrons enjoy noshing on New Tampa restaurants’ signature dishes, decadent desserts, and eclectic offerings. Fortunately, for guests, Florida Hospital Center Ice is the largest hockey complex in the southeastern United States, so there is plenty of room to work off all the extra calories. They can dance them off, too, since the freshest local bands and musicians dish up entertainment.

With unwavering commitment to the communities it serves, Pilot Bank has participated in Taste of New Tampa & Wesley Chapel as a Chocolate Sponsor for best dish. More than just sponsors, though, Montgomery explains that the Pilot Bank team are actively involved, “Whether setting up, on garbage patrol, or serving food, Pilot Bank associates are there to help.” He continued, “Partnering with New Tampa community events like this, is one of the ways we demonstrate that we are the premier community bank in New Tampa and Wesley Chapel.” More than lending its name, the Pilot Bank team is lending a hand.

The 2018 Taste of New Tampa & Wesley Chapel event will take place on Sunday, March 25th from noon until 4 P.M. Ticket prices will increase on March 1st, so it’s a great idea to secure yours now. There will be family friendly activities and exhibits to round out all of the tantalizing dishes. Try something new this March, and venture over to New Tampa and Wesley Chapel for tastes that will have your taste buds soaring to new heights.
