Originally from New York before relocating to Tampa Bay, Simply Smart Health’s CEO & Founder Dr. Jerry Beinhauer, is an innovative entrepreneur with experience in healthcare and technology. He is an entertaining national speaker, serves on the board of multiple healthcare organizations, served as a local volunteer fire-fighter/EMT for many years, and has been a trusted expert advisor for government officials.

When asked why he founded Simply Smart Health, Dr. Beinhauer shared his own personal experiences with healthcare plans that were fraught with hidden costs & lacked transparency.  When his wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2015, he experienced the other side of the U.S. healthcare system, and was appalled.  He could not understand why all of the coordination of his wife’s care fell on the patient and family, with little to no help from the insurance carrier that provided coverage for his company’s health plan.  Furthermore, despite proactively verifying all his wife’s coverage and financial details prior to her surgery, they received over $30,000 in unexpected bills.  To add insult to injury, a few months later he received a 32% annual premium increase from their insurance carrier.  Something had to change.  That’s when Dr. Beinhauer started Simply Smart Health.  He decided that there needed to be a new approach to employer healthcare benefits, one that delivered an exceptional VIP-type experience with fair, transparent pricing.
