Dennis Hartin, president of Tampa-based employee benefits company Hartin Dynamics, recently appeared on the “Elevate Today” podcast to share some innovative thinking that is emerging in his field and his work in the local community. Hosted by Elevate President Aakash Patel, the “Elevate Today” podcast showcases outstanding local entrepreneurs, business leaders, and community change-makers.
After leading national sales teams for over twenty-five years in the employee benefits industry, Dennis Hartin founded Hartin Dynamics in 2017 with the goal of helping employers create and implement innovative strategies for managing their employee benefits. Dennis is passionate about helping employers address their frustrations with insurance while also offering competitive benefits programs designed to attract and retain the best talent.
During our podcast, Dennis talks about the rise in healthcare costs as one of the chief expenses for employers and explains how his company works to contain costs while maintaining quality health insurance coverage. Dennis describes an ideal client for Hartin Dynamics as a business with 25+ employees who are tired of the “hamster wheel” chase that leaves them feeling out of control when it comes to managing healthcare premiums and keeping employees happy.
“We focus on making it simple. Things that are high impact and low disruption are what we focus on,” explains Hartin. His firm sets itself apart by focusing on cost control through plan education, providing healthcare advocates for employees, and ensuring transparency for benefit plan decision-makers. Making sure employees understand how to use their employee benefits is crucial getting top-quality care while minimizing the cost of claims. Plan education allows employees to utilize their benefits more effectively which results in a win for both the employee and the employer.
Dennis went on to talk about mental health and how it will impact employee benefits claims in the future. Hartin Dynamics has partnered with the National Center for Performance Health to develop an “emotional vaccine” initiative to provide better mental health awareness. Hartin Dynamics is dedicated to improving employee benefits, especially in terms of addressing mental health issues for his clients’ employees.
Dennis also discussed his excitement about his contribution to a new book coming in early 2021 titled, “Top 25 Florida Changemakers” that showcases Florida business owners who thought outside the box, finding ways to thrive during the 2020 pandemic.
