When Synuity Team Members Rachelle, April, and Craig wrap up their time at the Synuity office, they can be found working with another organization made up of astounding team members. The staff members have found a special connection with The Epilepsy Services Foundation. The Synuity Associates have a special connection with this foundation as they know first-hand what it is like to have an immediate family member living with this neurological disorder. As parents of children with this life-long illness, they rely on foundations such as ESF to educate and inform not only them but their families as well. A diagnosis such as this is life changing for everyone in the household. Waking up to this reality out of nowhere is often shocking and finds the parents looking for answers aimlessly. Having the communal bond of other parents that are experiencing the same fears and obstacles gives them a peace of mind that only “Epilepsy Parents” can truly understand.
The mission of this foundation is to inform others of about epilepsy, promoting dialogue between persons with epilepsy, families and others dealing with the impact of the medical condition. The Synuity team enjoys working events throughout the year as a form of team building and giving back to our community. They are excited to help promote the annual “Walk for Epilepsy” taking place in Spring 2019. The Walk is a great opportunity to meet others passionate about the foundation and raise funding to provide scholarships for kids and teens affected by epilepsy.
The vision of ESF is to have all those affected by epilepsy and other seizure disorders living in West Central Florida feel empowered to achieve their full potential so they can live a healthy productive, and satisfying life within a supportive community. One of the events that the foundation is proud of is their annual “Epilepsy Week at Camp Boggy Creek” that takes place in Eustis FL. Camp Boggy provides a medically safe and fun environment for children carrying challenging disorders.
ESF has provided services in the Tampa Bay community for 45 years and touched the lives of many families. What separates ESF from other Epilepsy Foundations is their focus on not only children affected by this disorder but young adults, teens and their families.
