Pilot Bank Market Leader, Nicole Fielder Connects with the Tampa Bay Community

July 19, 2017

As a community bank, Pilot Bank exemplifies the definition of what it means to be an authentically service-driven bank. Pilot Bank is a full service bank chartered by the state of Florida in 1987, making its 30th Anniversary this year. Like many other banks, Pilot Bank provides retail and commercial to individuals, businesses, and institutions within the Greater Tampa Bay Region. However, Pilot Bank differentiates itself through its uncompromised values, passion for service, and an incredible team to carryout these core values. One of which, is Nicole Fielder, Market Leader at Pilot Bank’s Westchase location.

Nicole’s background began in Amsterdam, New York, however, because her father’s career involved the steel business, she frequently moved to places such as Alabama, Pennsylvania, and eventually to Plant City, Florida. Before her career in banking, Nicole worked as a Retail Store Manager at Things Remembered. It was there where she realized her passion for helping people and being a valuable resource to find solutions. Nicole had a desire for learning more about the individuals she was assisting and helping them to create memories. Not only did this career fortify her love for people and service, but it also demonstrated her tenacious leadership capabilities.

Following her love for people, Nicole Fielder commenced her career within the banking industry 29 years ago and has no intention of stopping. Beginning her career as a teller at Barnett Bank, she quickly ascended to positions of leadership within the bank. After 10 years of experience at Barnett, Nicole worked at Bank Atlantic, which was eventually acquired by PNC. In 2002 she was recognized as “Bank Atlantic Store Manager of the Year”. When Bank Atlantic was acquired by PNC, Nicole had gained more leadership responsibilities and facilitated a PNC Curriculum called “PNC Conversation & Deep Dive into Savings and Investing”. After more than 16 years at Bank Atlantic/PNC, Nicole moved on to C1 Bank as a Branch Manager.

It was this year that Nicole joined the spirited team at Pilot Bank as a Market Leader at its Westchase location. Nicole brings her dedication to maintaining a reputation built on quality, service, and ethics to strengthen Pilot Bank’s mission. Nicole emphasizes the importance of being team-oriented while maintaining an effective leadership style. She believes that the best way to sustain a healthy work environment for her team is honesty, transparency, and effective communication. This allows her to coach, develop, and train her associates to ensure the highest standards of quality and client advocacy.

Nicole’s 29 years of experience has provided her expertise in promoting strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and communicative skills. This allows her to continuously provide support at all levels of banking center functions from operational to lending as well as to develop a sales plan/goals for the banking center. Additionally, as a Market Leader, Nicole’s interpersonal skills allow her to build Pilot Bank’s presence within the community in order to enhance business relationships. Nicole shares her positive experience working at Pilot Bank,

“I am very lucky to work for Pilot Bank since it gives me the ability to do what I enjoy doing every day; meeting and helping people. I get to find out how people got started in their industry and then what led them to start their own business. I love learning what makes them successful and how can I help them save money, make money, and become more efficient. I find out what their needs are and then offer solutions. Pilot Bank has a knowledgeable and involved executive team that wants to help our clients and employees therefore allowing for the bank to become even more successful.”

Nicole equips herself to help others through continued development and education. She has completed a Fast-track Leadership Program at Nova University, is a Licensed Agent for Life, Health and Annuities, and at one time carried a Series 6 license that she received in 2003. Additionally, Nicole has continued her education in areas such as: Business Development, Coaching for Improvement, Conflict Management, Creating a Motivating Environment, Developing and Coaching Team Members, Omega Performance Small Business Lending, and much more!

Because Pilot Bank prides itself in being a community bank, its emphases rests within volunteerism and community involvement. Nicole has volunteered at Paint Your Heart Out, University Community Development Center, as well as Meals on Wheels. In addition, Nicole is a Past Volunteer Chair for the American Cancer Society and continues to volunteer. Aside, from volunteerism, Nicole’s Community involvement expands into Professional Development. She was Past President of the North Tampa Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Valrico Fishhawk Chamber of Commerce, the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, as well as an active member of the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber. Nicole is also a proud member of Working Women of Tampa Bay.

When she is not working or involved within the community, in her spare time Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband of 31 years, playing with her cats, and relaxing while reading fiction mysteries. Nicole is another example of how Pilot Bank effectively promotes a well-balanced life – encouraging healthy work environments, fostering community relationships, as well as maintaining a personal life.
