The Board of Counselors steering committee has selected Katie Krimitsos as the next chair of BOC and Aakash Patel as the chair-elect to succeed Katie.

Katie is the Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer of the Tampa Bay Business Owners, business growth community that provides education and connecting opportunities that help members work strategically on their businesses.  Katie is also the Founder of the Business Women Rock! Podcast, a weekly show that features insightful interviews with the world’s most fascinating women entrepreneurs, business builders and professionals. Since joining the Counselors in 2011, Katie has served as the co-chair of membership, TopShot, and career services and student outreach committees. Katie received a Bachelor of Arts in communication from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in communication from University of South Florida.

Aakash is the Founder & President of Elevate, Inc. – a Florida-based strategic business consulting firm providing a variety of services, based on recognizing, forming and leveraging strategic relationships. Aakash serves as a member of the Centre Club Board of Governors, Leadership Tampa Bay Board of Directors, Indo-US Chamber of Commerce Vice-President and as a member of the Florida Holocaust Museum Leadership Council. He has been a member of the Board of Counselors since 2010 and has served on following committees: career services and student outreach co-chair, membership co-chair, and development chair. Aakash received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature & Political Science from Florida State University.

Combined with Katie and Aakash’s knowledge of and passion for UT, I am certain the Board of Counselors will continue to grow and thrive under their leadership.  In coming weeks, Katie will establish her steering committee.  If you are interested in taking on a leadership role, please let Katie know.  Katie will officially take on the chair position starting June 1, 2014.
