Elevate Inc. President Aakash Patel Graduates Homeland Citizens Academy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TAMPA, Fla., November 29, 2018 – Elevate Inc., President Aakash Patel received his diploma from the November graduating class of the Homeland Citizen’s Academy in Tampa.

The Homeland Security Investigations Tampa Citizen’s Academy is designed to put its students through rigorous training to provide new perspective on roles and responsibilities that come along with Homeland Security Investigations. This course is designed so the students not only understand how law enforcement operates, but also why they operate the way they do.

Throughout the eight-week course, the class provided real world experience that simulated that of what agents experience during their initial training.  Each week, a new investigative group presented a new scenario for the students of Homeland Citizen’s Academy. During the training session the class encountered defensive tactics, live fire and a presentation from the Special Response Team.

“It was important for me to put myself in the shoes of our local enforcement and consider some of the situations they are put in. I was able to gain new insight on what goes on behind the scenes as they simultaneously strategize a plan given the situation at hand” says Patel.

The local Academy is committed to developing our community and building connections amongst the groups of students and local enforcement. Participants of the academy were nominated by local HSI employees for inclusion in the program. Once nominated, the interested community members had to submit an application and undergo a limited background check before ultimately being selected to participate. The HSI Tampa Citizens Academy received more applicants than there were slots available making acceptance limited.

Homeland Citizen’s Academy is proud to have graduated another class of individuals in which they are confident will take their behind the scenes experience and share with others in the community. The class is held semi-annually. Requirements for the program include its students to be 18 years or older, submit a background check, and attend all sessions.
