DSK Law is one of Central Florida’s largest law firms. Founded in 1976, the firm operates offices in Orlando, Tampa and Tallahassee. The firm has over 50 experienced attorneys with a broad range of legal services. The DSK Law team is very involved in the communities it serves. Associate, Cameron Frye, is no exception.
Cameron Frye graduated with a degree in English from the University of Florida (2009) and earned his juris doctorate from University of Florida Levin College of Law (2013). He joined DSK Law, in 2016, after working as litigation counsel for one of the country’s largest insurance companies. During his free time, Frye enjoys fishing, spending time with family and golfing, which translates nicely to his involvement with The First Tee Tampa Bay.
The First Tee is an international youth development organization that teaches young people important life skills through golf. Through lessons, summer camps, clubs and tournaments, the organization reinforces values such as integrity, respect and perseverance—shaping the lives of young people throughout the Tampa Bay community.
On his involvement with The First Tee, Frye states, “I was about 12 years old when I found out about The First Tee. Back then, the stigma was that it was an organization that helped underprivileged youth discover golf. When I moved to Tampa, I had the opportunity to get involved with The First Tee of Tampa Bay. I discovered how much the First Tee actually does. It’s not just an organization for underprivileged kids. It’s open to anyone, from very young to high school seniors. The First Tee aims to help kids grow by teaching them life lessons and life skills through golf. They provide many opportunities for kids to interact and play golf, while also helping them prepare for college and life”.
Frye volunteers on First Tee’s advisory board and helps market The First Tee in the community. He also volunteers at tournaments, supervising the junior golfers and helping them understand the golf’s rules. Summer tournaments begin in early May and take place, biweekly, through August.
Frye continues, “Since joining The First Tee of Tampa Bay and becoming an advisory board member, I have helped raise over $800,000.00 benefiting The First Tee and supporting the local chapter. I’ve also met several young adults who, if not for golf and The First Tee, may not have even thought about going to college.”
Frye proudly shares, “The First Tee is a great organization, and I’m lucky to serve on the advisory board of one of the strongest and most successful chapters in the country. “
