Distance Learning and Higher Education explored in Synapse Converge panel

Elevate, Inc. Founder and President Aakash Patel will moderate discussion

TAMPA, FL — Educational leaders from throughout Florida will explore Distance Learning and Higher Education during a panel discussion at Synapse Converge, a three-day Digital Interactive Conference.

Elevate, Inc. Founder and President Aakash Patel, who also serves as Chairman of the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, will moderate the discussion.

“The coronavirus has had a huge impact on college campuses, with universities leveraging technology to keep classes going while keeping students, faculty and staff healthy and safe,” said Patel, who served as chairman of the University of Tampa Board of Counselors in 2015. “It’s essential that we understand how best to provide a quality education in these unusual times, and consider how we can use technology to make higher education even more impactful in the long-term.”

Panelists include Moez Limayem, dean of the University of South Florida Muma College of Business; St. Petersburg College President Dr. Tonjua Williams; Saif Ishoof, Vice President of Engagement at Florida International University; and Matt Bohm, Director of Industry Engagement and Capstone Projects at Florida Polytechnic University.

“The Distance Learning panel is just one of the many exciting events on the agenda for the summit, which will exploring everything from AI and robotics to customer relations, project management and podcasts,” said Brian Kornfeld, CEO of the Synapse, a nonprofit that brings together entrepreneurs, innovators and investors. “Right now we’re focusing on the regrowth of Florida innovation companies coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Distance Learning panel is scheduled for Thursday, June 11 from 11 a.m. to noon.

Elevate, Inc. which is a strategic business consulting firm founded by Patel in 2012, provides companies with public relations, community relations, targeted networking and social media.  In 2014, then Gov. Rick Scott appointed him as Chairman of the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County.  Patel is also Immediate Past Chairman of the Centre Club Tampa Board of Governors, a member of the Synapse Board of Directors, and serves on the Superbowl LV Host Committee. The 2019 Indo-US Chamber Businessman of the Year, Patel is a graduate of Florida State University.
