Karthik Viswanathan, President of Convene, Inc. and his team help support Swim Across America. Convene, Inc. was a sponsor for Swim Across America Tampa Bay on May 11th, 2019 at North Shore Park in St. Petersburg, FL. Swim Across America is a nonprofit dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention, and treatment. The proceeds from the swill supported the Swim Across America Lab focusing on immunotherapy clinical trials and cancer research as well as the Adolescent & Young Adult Program addressing the unique concerns of young adults with cancer at Moffitt Cancer Center and pediatric cancer research at John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Over the past seven years, Swim Across America Tampa Bay has donated over $1 million to Moffitt Cancer Center.
Every 15 minutes, 50 Americans are diagnosed with cancer. But, the good news is that every year millions of Americans are beating cancer through advancements in treatments. The Swim Across America organization is devoted to uniting the swimming community by hosting benefit swims that raise money to fund lifesaving cancer research and clinical trials. The money raised at the swim events goes to a network of doctors and researchers who are the pioneers of developing new cures and treatments to this dreaded disease.
