CEL Presents at the Elevate, Inc. Advisory Board Meeting

Christian Leon, interim Executive Director of the Community Enrichment Laboratory, shares with the Elevate Inc. Advisory Board and meeting attendees about CEL and their mission in the Tampa Bay area. The CEL is focused on the Innovation District; the District’s largest institutions include  USF, the Moffitt Cancer Center, Advent Health Hospitals, Busch Gardens, and the VA Hospital (the 2nd largest Veteran hospital in the country).

The CEL’s mission is to harness the resources and ingenuity of the Innovation District’s businesses and institutions into transformational opportunities to enrich the lives and prospects of the area’s residents and stakeholders. CEL strives to foster a distinct and vibrant civic identity by maximizing the community’s potential. They do this to alleviate generational poverty, optimize health & wellness, promote social enterprise and local entrepreneurship, and strengthen the urban fabric. The CEL’s current initiatives are to increase diversity for the Moffitt Center’s clinical trial pool, a Hackathon 2020 event for the UACDC’s benefit (likely focusing on temporary homelessness), and to provide strategic council and coordination with the USF’s Honors College Community Impact classes.  The CEL is also involved in public art projects in the District.

Please show your support of the Community Enrichment Lab by attending Innovation Gathering 2019 and learning more about the organization and the future of the Innovation District. The event will take place on October 17, 2019.  Both Tampa Mayor, Jane Castor and USF President, Steven Currall will be present and addressing the attendees.
