Bryan Glazer Family JCC Opening in Tampa This December

On July 19, Elevate, Inc. was given an inside look to the Bryan Glazer Family JCC (Jewish Community Center) that is being built in the historic Armory building located on North Howard Ave. The Armory building was dedicated on Dec. 8, 1941 and maintains a vast history includes hosting the Rough Riders, multiple Elvis Presley performances, President John F. Kennedy addressing the Florida Congress and a Martin Luther King Jr. speech. The building has remained vacant since the early 2000’s until The Bryan Glazer Family JCC decided to use the building and land for their new community center. This exciting project is bringing vitality to the historic building while creating a community friendly facility. The architecture for this project will create one of the most innovative and beautiful buildings in Tampa Bay. Additionally, the Bryan Glazer Family JCC will offer a wide variety of amenities to their members benefiting the entire community of Tampa.

The Bryan Glazer Family JCC will provide the Tampa Bay community the opportunity to come together for various functions. The facility has an event room that is accommodating to multiple uses; it can hold up to 550 guest offering full services or can be segmented into six smaller rooms to provide for multiple smaller groups. Also, many community programs will be housed in the facility such as, The Florida-Israel Business Accelerator, Tampa Jewish Family Services, J Care Services for children 6 weeks-11 years old available to families while using the fitness center, and The City of Tampa Visual Arts Center. Another useful addition is the multiple offices available by reservation that can hold community or business meetings.

Members will be provided the opportunity to enjoy the above-mentioned amenities and significantly more inside The Bryan Glazer Family JCC. Members will have access to state-of-the-art gym facilities including weight and cardio areas, indoor basketball courts, indoor track, and an aquatic center. The aquatic center will include a splash pad area for kids, hot tub, competitive lap pool, and zero entry pool. Also, surrounding the aquatic area will be plenty of seating including shaded cabanas. If you prefer exercising in a group setting, the facility will offer multiple classes in Pilates, mind body yoga, as well as cycling. Moreover, there will be a Café with healthy offerings for members who are looking for a snack or light meal after a hard workout or for a relaxing day by the pool.

The ribbon cutting of The Bryan Glazer Family JCC will take place December 8, 2016 and the public grand opening will be December 11, 2016.
