Baker Barrios Completes Foley, Enners, Nathe Lacrosse Center

The Foley Enners Nathe Lacrosse Center is one of many Baker Barrios Architects’ projects for The United States Military Academy at West Point. West Point is a four-year coeducational federal service academy located in West Point, New York. Rob Ledford, Managing Partner at Baker Barrios in Tampa has been involved with West Point since the 2001 bi-centennial campaign and has managed several projects including the Foley Indoor Practice Facility and the Anderson Rugby Complex. It is exciting to announce that construction has recently been completed for the new state-of-the-art Foley, Enners, Nathe Lacrosse Center. Both the men and women’s lacrosse teams have officially begun to utilize the space.

Several former lacrosse players played an important role in the development of the project, including William Foley, Gary Giglio, Randy Quirk and Will Weathersby. The largest donor, William Foley, Class of 1967, donated to honor two former classmates and great lacrosse players, Raymond Enners and Mike Nathe who were both killed in action in Vietnam.

The Lacrosse Center is approximately 18,000 square feet. The first floor contains both men and women’s locker rooms, space for coaches lockers, medical training facilities for both teams as well as on-site equipment storage. The training room includes treatment tables, physician’s office, and a dual therapy pool. The second floor houses separate team rooms with a scenic overlook of Lusk reservoir and a viewing deck that overlooks Michie Stadium

The separate team rooms provide players space to both study and socialize, allowing them to build relationships amongst one another both on and off the field. The team rooms are furnished with televisions and lounge furniture, providing a dual function on game day as VIP luxury boxes. The second floor also contains a multipurpose room that can be used to serve team meals, academy functions, and team award ceremonies.

Baker Barrios maintains a strong sense of community and firmly believes that community commitment begins with partnerships that support social and economic development. The Foley, Enners, Nathe Lacrosse Center will now allow for the student athletes an amazing experience by fostering their own sense of community and achievement by providing the space and equipment needed to cultivate their talents.
