Apply for Amgen’s 2023 Health Equity Challenge

Factors such as access, discrimination, and bias play a large role in racial health disparities, particularly in the southern U.S. and other urban areas. To help close the gap in cardiovascular disease disparities among Black Americans, Amgen is launching a health equity challenge to identify innovative solutions to increase the utilization of navigation services for Black adults with cardiovascular disease in Florida. The Challenge will award up to $500,000 to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations across the U.S. to:

§ Incorporate care navigation services to increase the level of awareness around testing and treatments and improve access to culturally appropriate health education to help reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke

§ Assist patients in overcoming financial and insurance-related barriers to treatment and improve access to regular cholesterol testing, screening, and appropriate treatments

The call for submissions closes on March 8, 2023. To learn more and apply, visit Amgen’s Health Equity Challenge landing page.
