“When Hall of Fame golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez started a school on his golf course in Clearwater, Florida, he believed that the course could make a better environment for learning than a traditional classroom for some kids. Thus, the Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy was born.

The Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundationoperates the Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy whose mission is to educate fourth through eighth grade students in a public-private partnership, improving their academic performance, self-esteem, and character by using the golf course as a living classroom. In turn, 79% of Academy students are graduating from high school after attending. All of which were previously deemed at-risk for dropping out.

Proceeds from the public Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club and Driving Range fund approximately 22% of the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation’s educational programs. The other 80% is fundraised through three different annual events.

In order to help prepare for the Chi Chi Charity Classic held later this November, American Interiors volunteered their time by painting tee signs that will later showcase event sponsors on the course during the two-day signature event. American Interiors Tampa is so thankful to the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation for their hospitality, kindness, and passion.”
