Undersea Oxygen Clinic Providing Internships for the Tampa Bay Community

Undersea Oxygen Clinic is #HelpingOurCity by offering the opportunity to students at the University of South Florida with internships. The past three months they utilized three interns, Sierra, Abdullah, and Ryan. Below Sierra shares her experience working and learning at Undersea Oxygen Clinic.

“At the Undersea Oxygen Clinic, my internship experience has been thrilling. Working for these doctors is such an informative, interesting, and exciting experience. Joe and Mario are fantastic people who are inspiring and motivating to work for. During my time at the clinic, I have created an informational video on their business and what they are here for, I have worked on National exam database questions, and even helped in their marketing. They have provided many learning experiences for me to get involved in. I have sat in their certification course, I have sat in on meetings they have had with other local business in order to network, and I have even been in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber myself. I have learned so much about hyperbaric medicine through this internship, and I continue to learn more every day. Prior to this internship, I had only briefly heard of hyperbaric through my scuba certification course, and had only thought it was good for decompression sickness. Now, I have a deeper understanding of the use of this medicine for many other illnesses that I had never even thought of. I have even been put in contact with the volunteer dive team coordinator at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. I would recommend any of my fellow classmates to join their team for the experience alone. This was not the dreaded coffee-fetching internship from the movies and I am beyond grateful I had the opportunity to be a part of their team.” – Sierra Taylor
