New Superintendent Plans to Improve Hillsborough County Schools

The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce hosted an exceptional Circle of Influence Breakfast on October 27th featuring Jeff Eakins, Superintendent of Hillsborough County Public Schools. Eakins enlightened the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce members in attendance of his plans to continue to improve the Hillsborough County Public School System.

Jeff Eakins has spent 25 years of his career with the Hillsborough County School District. He was selected in March as Acting Superintendent of Hillsborough County, and on July 1, 2015 he officially became the Superintendent of the nation’s eighth-largest school district. The Hillsborough County School District hosts over 200,000 students, 27,000 employees and 260 school sites. Eakins previously served as Deputy Superintendent before taking the reigns as Superintendent, and now oversees the implementation of a $2.8 billion budget!
