On July 21, The Tampa Bay Business Owners held their sixth annual Christmas in July with a Taste of Tequila. The Tampa Bay Business Owners are a community of entrepreneurs and business owners who come together for peer collaboration that supports each member’s business goals. They host many events throughout the year but the biggest event is Christmas in July.
The Christmas in July event brings local business, organizations, and services together in an open market concept. This is a great opportunity to raise awareness about each vendor, as the event attracted over 400 people this year. Each vendor had their own booth where attendees can learn more about what each vendor provides. These vendors vary in industry from services, products, and organizations. This year the event had 44 vendors at one of Tampa’s top venue locations, the TPepin Hospitality Centre. Attendees had plenty to see and do at the event, such as a treasure hunt and a distillery tour. The treasure hunt had specific vendors highlighted that attendees would find and get signed off their event map. When all of the highlighted vendor logos were signed off, you could turn in your map for a prize from Santa. The Pepin distillery tours were free to attendees and were offered twice throughout the event.
The event not only benefited local businesses it specifically benefitted two local non-profits. This year’s highlighted non-profits were Wheels of Success and The Freedom to Walk Foundation. Wheels of Success fixes up donated cars and provides them at a low cost to employed people in need of a vehicle. The Freedom to Walk Foundation provides WalkAides to people who have foot drop. Foot drop is a medical condition that affects how the person walks and can be related to other disabilities. One of the more heartwarming moment happened when the TBBO was able to donate a WalkAide to a child in need.
