Everyone knows that part of doing business is making connections and building relationships with clients and fellow professionals in their area. Relationships provide referrals, strengthen networks, and act as a source of constructive criticism. Too often, however, good connection-forming habits go undeveloped. Ansley Kahn, Chief Strategy Officer of Elevate, Inc., knows a thing or two about networking, and spoke to Real Estate Lives (REL) about what she’s learned.
Real Estate Lives is a non-profit in Tampa that works to support struggling real estate professionals affected by the downturn in the industry. Much of the support they provide comes in the form of job search services, including training, networking events, and specialized job boards. Real Estate Lives hopes that through mutual support within the real estate industry, eventually Tampa Bay will return to having a vibrant real estate community.
Ansley’s presentation featured examples of Elevate, Inc. clients utilizing good relationship-building habits to grow their business and network. By using good follow-up practices and being active at networking events, client LumaStream and past client Because of Ezra were able to raise capital for their company and non-profit, respectively. Ansley also spoke on how to leverage social media platforms to boost exposure, and fielded questions from the members of REL in attendance.
