Cristo Rey Tampa High School is one of 39 schools in the nationally recognized Cristo Rey Network® that provide a unique program of academic rigor, corporate work experience, and character education. They empower students from economically-challenged families to reach their full potential by implementing the Corporate Work Study Program. This program (CWSP) is an innovative economic model that enables students to receive a private, college preparatory education while gaining invaluable real-world work experience from leading corporations and non-profit organizations in Tampa, Florida. Cristo Rey Tampa is seeking Partners to join the Corporate Work Study Program to help provide students with work experience in a variety of industries. CWSP is beginning in September and open to and excited about new Partnerships throughout the academic year.
Why should the Tampa Community get involved?
Cristo Rey schools are creating a 21st century pipeline of skilled, minority workers that Corporate America can employ. They also provide marketing opportunities for participating companies to promote their community support initiatives to all their stakeholders. All CWSP earnings are applied towards student tuition, covering the majority of the students’ education costs. Students are receiving Real Work Experience. Cristo Rey Network® students have the opportunity to work real jobs in industries like law, finance, healthcare, technology, marketing, university and many other professional offices.
“Our students deserve a quality education, and the Cristo Rey model provides students with life changing opportunities. Our college preparatory curriculum and work study program elevate the educational trajectory of our students in high school and beyond. The active participation of the Tampa Bay community is integral to the success of our model.” – Maria Vaca, Vice President of Corporate Relations, Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School & Corporate Work Study Program.
