On July 15th, Centre Club welcomed Dara Shareef, Board Member and Shareholder at Benchmark International this morning for Breakfast with an Executive. Drawing from his own career journey, Dara shared an inspiring message about resilience, adaptability, and embracing unexpected opportunities throughout one’s professional life.
Reflecting on his early career after graduating from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester, Dara spoke candidly about facing uncertainty when the company he joined in Boston unexpectedly closed, leaving him at 27 years old without a job or a clear plan. Rather than viewing the experience as a setback, he used it as motivation to rebuild his career, eventually working with both Fortune 500 companies and startups, helping entrepreneurs develop business plans, investor pitch decks, and strategic growth initiatives.
His story highlighted how perseverance and a willingness to adapt can lead to unexpected success, encouraging attendees to view challenges as opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The morning also highlighted Benchmark International’s continued commitment to thought leadership through Closing Remarks, the firm’s podcast featuring conversations with business leaders and M&A professionals. New episodes are released every Wednesday, providing listeners with valuable insights into leadership, business growth, and the evolving mergers and acquisitions. You can listen on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcast, and Amazon Music.
Thank you to Dara for sharing his personal journey and valuable leadership lessons, and to Centre Club for hosting another engaging Breakfast with an Executive that brought together professionals from across the Tampa Bay business community.
Thank you!
