
Cogent Bank has expanded into East Hillsborough and Polk Counties with the opening of a Loan Production Office in Plant City, Fla.
Cogent’s new Loan Production Office located at 110 E. Reynolds Street, Suite 606 in Plant City will service their growing number of clients in the East Hillsborough and Polk County. They hired veteran banker, Wesley Joyner, Senior Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager to oversee the new Loan Production Office. Joyner has more than 20 years of experience in banking and commercial lending. He is a graduate of the Florida School of Banking at the University of Florida and attended the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Joyner is a member of the Plant City Chamber of Commerce and several other local organizations. This is a boutique office for Cogent and Joyner will see clients by appointment only.
During a strong year of growth in 2021, Cogent expanded to eight locations in Florida, hired more than 60 associates and finished the year with over $1 billion in assets, $824 million in loans bank wide and now has up to a $20 million lending limit per relationship. The Bank also established an industry-leading partnership to offer business clients real-time, blockchain-based payments through TassatPay,™ and through their holding company invested in Lucy Labs, a multi-strategy cryptocurrency asset management firm. Cogent, which recently relocated its headquarters from Orange City to downtown Orlando, achieved a 118% increase in revenue from 2020 to 2021.
