CEO of Sunshine Bank Live in Studio

That Business Show listeners were charmed by Andrew Samuel’s infectious enthusiasm, perhaps the last thing you’d expect from an expert banker, let alone the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Sunshine Bank.

Andrew Samuel has been working for financial institutions since 1984 and became CEO of Sunshine Bank in 2014. Sunshine Bank opened in 1954 in Plant City as First Federal Savings and Loans Association until it rebranded in 2014 as Sunshine Bank with a streamlined name and bold new logo.

Andrew Samuel highlighted the history of growth within the bank over the past 60 years, growing from $190 million in assets with 5 offices to just under $500 million in assets with 12 locations, stretching along the I-4 corridor from Orlando to Tampa to Sarasota. When he joined the company last year, the board decided to focus on expansion through acquisitions and organic growth.

Andrew is an experienced entrepreneur who focuses on growing value-based companies and banks. His focus has always been and will continue to be to positively impact communities.

That Business Show host, Jamie Meloni, asked, “Why should the consumers go to Sunshine Bank?” Andrew responded sincerely, “If you look at our mission statement it is to positively impact people’s lives.” Andrew continued, “We believe that if you impact people’s lives positively, the profits will come and shareholders will be happy. Our focus is really on building relationships – not doing transactions – but building solid intimate relationships with our customers whether they are retail, commercial or not for profit.”

Andrew emphasized the importance of the bank customer relationship with engaged, passionate employees that provide uncompromising service to customers.

Andrew concluded the interview by enlightening all listeners on the future of Sunshine Bank. “We’re very excited about the future,” Andrew explained. “We’ve spent the last year rebuilding the management team, the board group, building out the infrastructure, rebranding the company and I think we’re now poised for some significant growth over the next few years.”
