It’s time to change the tide on cancer. Our client, Pilot Bank is at the forefront of this fight thanks to CEO Roy Hellwege. Roy has recently been named to a two- year term as chair of the American Cancer Society CEO’s Against Cancer. His term will begin January 2020. The American Cancer Society CEOs Against Cancer program brings the passion, expertise, and resources of the business community to help lead the fight against cancer.
Roy will be focusing his efforts on many critical issues facing thousands of Floridians each year. One of the issues being access to quality healthcare. In 2018, more than 131,000 Floridians were diagnosed with cancer and more than 45,000 lost their battle against it. In order to combat these statistics, Roy and the board are targeting key issues that affect the way Floridians face cancer. Loading and transportation being one of the main issues of focus. Recent observations suggest those receiving their care often struggle getting from point A to point B during treatment. Roy’s efforts will be impacting these individuals and the communities they live in.
“I can say with great confidence that cancer has, in some way, impacted the lives of everyone we know
and care about. There are far too many times in my life when I look inward and focus on the many stresses in my life, which is, quite frankly, a very selfish response. Then I reflect on a young man that I knew who recently passed at the age of 46 due to colon cancer. He left behind a beautiful wife and family. I know of friends and associates who either are personally dealing with some form of cancer or have a loved one struggling with cancer at this very moment. Perhaps it is someone in your immediate family or simply a dear friend. We have all been impacted by this disease because it does not discriminate!” – Roy Hellwege, CEO of Pilot Bank
Founded in 2003 in Chicago, this powerful group of executives are committed to saving lives and improving their companies bottom line.
