Eclipse President Todd Whalen recently enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame when he put in an appearance on the Tampa-based “That Business Show” with Jamie Meloni, which airs on 1250WHNZ. Whalen sat down with host Jamie Meloni to discuss the history of Eclipse Building Corporation, as well as the current climate in the construction industry. More specifically, he delved into how Eclipse has already started to become a presence in the Tampa Community.
Among the area projects Eclipse Building Corp. has completed over the last six months are the J.McLaughlin store in Hyde Park and almost 40 percent of the food court in the long-awaited Tampa Premium Outlets. Although these projects were Eclipse Building Corp.’s first foray into the Tampa market, Whalen promised Meloni it would hardly be the last.
Whalen praised Tampa for its exploding construction industry, which boasts great opportunities for companies like his own. Whalen told Meloni, “The geographics within the Tampa region and how far you can stretch construction without hitting any boundaries… it goes on almost indefinitely.”
Right now, business is booming. Having ridden the roller coaster several times, Whalen is familiar with the ups and downs of the construction industry. He has more than 25 years of hands-on experience in every facet of the construction industry including a proven track record in heavy, vertical, horizontal and marine construction. His comprehensive knowledge makes Eclipse Building Corp. an unparalleled project partner.
A general contracting and construction management firm, Eclipse specializes in upscale commercial, retail, restaurant and hospitality projects. With so much growth in the Tampa area, Eclipse Building Corporation is finding its way in the market.
In his sit-down with Meloni, Whalen also emphasized Eclipse Building Corp’s commitment to the community, doing work with school organizations, local organizations, the American Cancer Society and other non-profits. Whalen says: “They say it is better to give than to receive. So to be able to go back into the community and give back to those in need is something that we hold very close to our hearts.”
