Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast Recieve $25,000 Grant from the MLB and Boys & Girls Clubs of America for New Esports Initiative
We are very excited to announce the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast (BGCS) have been awarded a $25,000 grant from the MLB and BGCA for our their new GAME ON! Esports initiative for teens. This grant will help supply gaming consoles, gaming accessories, TVs, and furniture teen spaces for multiple Clubs.. The BGCS’s mission is to provide high quality out of school time Club experiences proven to ensure our young people, especially those who need us most, are on track to graduate from high school with a plan, demonstrate good character and citizenship, and live a healthy lifestyle.
BGCS serve over 21,000 kids and teens across six clubs and a middle school. Tampa Bay employers are looking for a talented workforce and BGCS provides job skill training and career exploration programs and places 128 teens in paid internship programs.
Additionally, BGCS has achieved status the Platinum Seal of Transparency with GuideStar and 4-Star rating with Charity Navigator, a recognition reserved for a select few non-profit organizations.
We are extremely thankful for the important work the BGCS is doing in the Tampa Bay area and are excited to highlight this achievement!
