On Thursday, June 17, 61 of Tampa Bay’s brightest entrepreneurs and leaders gathered in celebration with the community. What were they celebrating? Their graduation from Leadership Tampa Bay’s (LTB) class of 2017. Asif Hakeem, CEO of Hakeem Investments Florida, was among the graduates.
Over the 10-week course, Asif and the LTB class got a snapshot of everything the Tampa Bay region has to offer the immediate community and state of Florida as a whole. The courses are designed to show regional strengths and to delve into issues facing the region. This included a tourism day at Busch Gardens, a transportation day with guest speakers discussing I4 and Polk County, and a day celebrating the arts at The Dali Museum in St. Petersburg.
Upon graduating, Asif explained what he took from it all. “It was a great place to make local business connections. I learned about the transportation needs in the Tampa Bay Area.”
Leadership Tampa Bay is a non-profit organization comprised of an independent board of directors. It is funded through scholarships and tuition. All proceeds go towards programs for current members and alumni. Leadership Tampa Bay’s strives to enhancing awareness, education and knowledge of Tampa Bay issues.
