From the Windy City to the One with Swagger

Relocating from Chicago to Tampa is surely a leap, but one that Velocity Resource Group’s employees, Tyler Simpson and Mandy D’Allaird, are happy to take to assist with the company’s corporate transition. Tyler, who was raised in Chicago and attended school at Northern Illinois University, has been with VRG for the past eight years and was most recently promoted to Senior Director of Client Solutions. Mandy, a Client Manager for VRG, attended Illinois Wesleyan University and has been a member of VRG’s team for 4 years now.

Starting out as a recruiter for VRG, Tyler quickly transitioned to managing clients and moved up the ranks. For the past two years, he has been managing clients’ Recruitment and Sourcing Strategy. This eventually evolved into a higher leadership role as Senior Director of Client Solutions, where Tyler continues to take charge of client’s strategic approach to recruiting for their market.

Mandy also began as a recruiter for VRG. She recently became a Sr. Client Manager where she assists VRG clients with the day-to-day monitoring and strategy of their projects, working closely with the company’s recruitment team to ensure the best results.

Both employees have been with VRG long enough to see it grow beyond their imagination, watching as the company has doubled in size every year. The constant growth certainly keeps them on their toes, as they are both required to wear their fair share of hats to keep things running smoothly.

Since making the big move from Chicago only a month ago, both employees have already begun to find their place in Tampa Bay. Tyler sees the major benefits for VRG in relocating to Tampa, as most of their new hires are recent graduates of The University of Tampa and USF, which provides a great pool of potential employees.

Likewise, Mandy immediately saw VRG as a perfect fit for the Tampa Bay community, as our vibrant city matches the company culture her team works hard to maintain.

When asked about leaving Chicago behind, Tyler says “I believe that Tampa is definitely a city I can see myself staying in long-term.” Both Tyler and Mandy enjoy the easy access to all that Tampa has to offer, such as the free transportation downtown and Tyler loves the fact that he’s hardly had to drive his car. When he isn’t working hard for VRG, Tyler enjoys running and fishing, for which Tampa is sure to impress with it’s beautiful weather and scenic routes like Bayshore Boulevard and the Tampa Riverwalk.

Mandy also noted that her experience living in Tampa has been just as good as working here. She has been enjoying the ability to explore the city and the close proximity to restaurants, entertainment, and nightlife. A big change from the city of Chicago, Mandy also noted her love for the beach, and lucky for her it is now only a short drive away from her new home.
