Last Wednesday the University of Tampa’s Board of Fellows hosted a Business Network Symposium at the Vaughn Center for Tampa Bay community business leaders and UT students. Three prominent CEO’s of local businesses were featured and they were able to share their accomplishments, the lessons they have learned and some of the future plans they have for the businesses they represent.
Jim Burkhart, the President and CEO of Tampa General Hospital, shared with the group the future of healthcare and how Tampa General is shifting its focus to ensure the long-term wellness of their patients. Retired Major General Karl Horst is a part of the Senior Executive Leadership at Dimmitt Automotive Group and he talked about his passion for working with people and his love for good cars. Joey Redner, CEO of Cigar City Brewery, spoke about his passion for local beer and how following his instincts and doing what he knows is right for his product has led to the success he is experiencing today.
Among the business leaders who attended the event was Sven Boermeester and Christina Sloan from Proudly Florida, Bobby Tinsley from Priatek, Matt Doniger from Trinity Graphic, Stevie Morgan from CaterMeFit, and Andrew Meyer from Continental Wholesale Diamonds.
The event was one of three symposiums that the UT Board of Fellows hosts annually, learn more information about the events here or follow the UT Board of Fellows on Twitter.
