Miranda Doyel of Elevate, Inc. enjoys giving back to her community! As a Tampa native, she is passionate about the community she lives in which is why she paid it forward and volunteered! Miranda supports Our Daily Bread Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay Harvest.

Our Daily Bread Tampa Bay is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to permanently eliminate hunger and homelessness in the Tampa Bay area. In collaboration with local partners, they opened the first free grocery store in the State of Florida! They serve our community citizens directly with no questions asked and function as a food recovery and gleaning organization. Their partners which one is Tampa Bay Harvest, and volunteers pick up leftover, sale dated and quality excess food items from local supermarkets and restaurants, as well as other food-related businesses to feed the hungry.

“It was truly amazing to witness the raw emotion of families that need assistance- especially during this tough time. I watched families collect their groceries in tears, and children hanging on to their mothers and could not help but have a fuzzy feeling in my heart. I truly encourage anyone and everyone to get involved because it is something you have to experience for yourself” said Miranda.

Since being formed in 1989 Tampa Bay Harvest has delivered over 54,000,000 pounds of food to local charities! Many volunteers gather to sort and package food out of the goodness of their hearts. In the heat, on the weekends, and without pay they GIVE.

Miranda intends to continue to participate in volunteer work and truly enjoys the overall experience. She is hopeful that during tough times the community will find kindness in their hearts to give in any way they can, whether it is through volunteer work, a donation, or simply words of encouragement.
