The radio world had the pleasure of hearing from Tom Estabrook and Scott Jungles of Symplicity Designs during their appearance on That Business Show with Jamie Meloni and Kelly Wilson on Halloween morning. The partners of Symplicity Designs’ US Operations had the opportunity to tell the listeners of That Business Show what their services entail, as well as their plans to help fortify businesses in the Tampa Bay area.
“Symplicity helps organizations deliver on a triple bottom line of People, Planet and Profit,” says Scott Jungles on That Business Show. “We do that so they can improve, innovate, and grow faster than their competitors.” Symplicity Designs has worked with clients in the business, government, and nonprofit sectors. Symplicity works as a team of Organizational Designers who teach, train and coach organizations so those organizations can create “clarity of purpose” to identify the areas most in need of improvement.
Symplicity works to help companies streamline and improve their business processes, leading to organizations becoming better faster. “We put a formal management system in place with (customers), which aligns purpose, process, and people,” says Jungles. When an organization’s purpose is established, employees can develop a central focus in their everyday activities, no matter what position is held. About 90% of problems, challenges, and opportunities are process problems, not so much people problems. A lack of formal processes can result in confusion amongst business leaders, employees and customers.
Tom Estabrook, the other half of Symplicity Designs’ US Operations, went on to detail how using an “Outside-In” perspective can lead to process improvement. “For me, it has been a restless determination to learn about how business gets done, in any environment, any culture, and any organization” says Estabrook. “There are some fundamental processes that are the “DNA” to running any business.” Symplicity Designs believes that everything in life is a process. If you can step back and analyze that process from the Customer’s perspective, which is the most important asset in any organization, one can find steps in the process that can be improved upon.
