We are excited to announce that our friend and RevStar CEO Ken Pomella has started the New Year strong by volunteering with the nonprofit organization Think Big for Kids. Think Big for Kids helps underprivileged youth discover their untapped potential by bringing them exciting opportunities for career exploration, mentorship and skills development. Their mission is to introduce students from 6th to 12th grade to exciting career opportunities and assist them in achieving post-graduation goals for employment. Think Big for Kids partners with like-minded organizations representing diverse industries to reduce systemic poverty and prepare kids to excel in high-demand professions of today’s workforce.
We asked Ken what motivated him to get involved with this organization; “I had parents that introduced me and encouraged me to get involved with tech at a young age. Not everyone has that advantage, whether they don’t know what opportunities are out there, or don’t have a way of pursuing those opportunities or what pathway there is to have a career in technology. My goal by volunteering with Think Big for Kids is to guide them & show them what options and opportunities they have & provide the same encouragement towards technology that I had the benefit of at that age.“ RevStar CEO Ken Pomella continues, “We need to focus on providing pathways for student’s right out of high school get good entry level information technology jobs that can lead to careers. Too often companies complain about not be able to fill entry level IT roles. We have to show students at a young age clear cut opportunities within the technology field and attract them to the industry.”
We are extremely proud of Ken & the team at RevStar Consulting for stepping up to provide positive role models to kids. Just another way they are #HelpingOurCity and working to #ElevateTampa
