The Elevate team was fortunate enough to attend Questmont Strategic Wealth Advisor’s recent Wisdom, Wealth & Wine dinner & economic update at the Centre Club. Special thanks to Questmont for a truly memorable night that included a live band, champagne, a phenomenal dinner, wine tasting with the first American Master Sommelier Eddie Osterland & the announcement that Questmont donated $10,000 to AdventHealth Carrollwood! This donation will go directly to a new MRI machine
Questmont President Taylor Ranker took the stage as The White Stripes “Seven Nation Army” played & provided an economic analysis for the coming year, discussing the industries that will see the largest growth dependent on which candidate wins the US Presidential election. We also caught up with Questmont Vice President Nathan Imboden for a quick Facebook Live update (available on our Elevate Facebook page). Questmont is the only Virtual Family Office in the Tampa Bay area and has been helping clients here for over two decades. Due to the growth of demand for their services, they launched their first physical branch in Tampa Bay in August 2020. Questmont works with select families to coordinate and simplify their “scattered buckets of wealth” and lighten their load. As a business owner and leader, when was the last time your financial advisor, CPA, lawyer and insurance broker got in a room together and worked on nothing but your concerns? That’s what Questmont can offer its clientele.
Last, but most certainly not least, the Questmont team connected via Zoom with America’s first Master Sommelier, Eddie Osterland. Questmont provided various red wines from Napa Valley, Argentina, & the Bordeaux region of France for guests to sample. Eddie then regaled the audience with stories about his time as a Master Sommelier & how he got into the career. Here’s an excerpt from Eddie’s website (https://eddieosterland.com/about/about-eddie-osterland/):
“Originally from New Jersey, Eddie first tapped into his natural salesman abilities while attending graduate school in Honolulu, Hawaii. With no food or beverage industry experience he landed a waiter position on the top floor of the Ilikai luxury hotel. While working as a waiter at night, and attending graduate school during the day, Eddie found the time to become a airplane pilot so as to better enjoy traveling throughout Hawaii’s beautiful islands. Occasionally, he traveled in the company of his pet monkey!
One evening, he was asked to substitute for the restaurant’s sommelier. Upon realizing how enjoyable and lucrative being a sommelier was, Eddie eventually decided to go to France where he earned his degree in Professional Tasting (D.U.A.D-Diplôme Universitaire D’Aptitude A la Dégustation Des Vins) at the University of Bordeaux.
While living in France he worked as the head Sommelier at the Hôtel de la Poste, Beaune France. Eventually he went to London where he became the first American to pass the Master Sommelier Diploma in London in 1973.
He has coached leaders from Citibank, General Mills, IBM and Proctor & Gamble on how to create memorable client dinners and experiences. He also taught during multiple corporate entertaining events at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.”
We will keep you posted on future Questmont events as this one will surely be remembered! Thanks again to the Questmont team for such a lovely evening. For more information regarding Questmont’s Virtual Family Office & their services, visit their website: https://www.questmont.com/
