Oct. 21, 2025—Tampa, Fla.–The following statement can be attributed to the President and CEO of the Tampa Housing Authority, regarding the grand opening of a Publix Store at West River— 1700 N Blvd, Tampa, FL 33607—this Thursday, October 23, at 7:00 a.m.

“The opening of Publix at West River is a defining moment in the transformation of this community. What was once a superblock of concentrated poverty now stands as a thriving, mixed-income community—home to vibrant retail, safe streets, and more than three times the housing opportunities that once existed here. Having Publix now nearby, families in West River and the surrounding area will finally have access to fresh, quality groceries in their own neighborhood.
