Pilot Bank President Rita Lowman to Chair American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball

Taking place on February 23rd, 2019, The American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball is a western-themed event helping to raise cancer awareness within the community as well as funds to help finish the fight against cancer. This year, Pilot Bank President, Rita Lowman will Chair the event.

“I have been a part of the American Cancer Society for about 12 years, and have served as Chair of the local board, Board of Directors for Florida and Puerto Rico and currently sit on the Southeastern US cabinet. This will be my third time in 10 years to Chair the event. My passion for the event started when my Dad was diagnosed with cancer. He has since passed away from the disease” says Lowman.

The Cattle Baron’s Ball will take place at Armature Works, and feature good food, fellowship, mechanical bull riding, dancing, cow roping and more. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on silent and live auction items such as dinners, trips and events, including a 16-person suite at the first 2019 Buccaneers pre-season game, donated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Each year, funds raised go to support cancer research and awareness, and in 2018, the event raised over $500,000.

The American Cancer Society’s mission is to spread awareness and fund research to find a cure. A large number of individuals have been affected by cancer, many losing loved ones to the disease. Lowman goes on to say, “Together we can fund research. Some of the Doctors and Scientists who have received grants are right here in the Tampa Bay Region. We have amazing facilities and Doctors who work diligently with the American Cancer Society. Let’s keep the focus and work together for a cure”.
