Just after two years, he was promoted to Assistant Manager of Mercantile’s first office in Hillsborough County, where he was also selected for Mercantile Bank’s Management Training program.

That same year, Rob graduated from the Florida School of Banking at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Shortly after, Rob became the Assistant Vice President for Mercantile Bank’s Maximo Office in St. Petersburg. Just after two years of establishing that office from 1997 to 1999, he was promoted to Vice President.

Last March 2016, Rob joined the team at Pilot Bank. Pilot Bank encourages involvement within the community. With that being said, Rob has been heavily involved in the Rotary – Tampa Hyde Park where he was President of Tampa Hyde Park Rotary from 2008 to 2009 and was Rotarian of the Year in 2007. Additionally, he was Rotary Assistant District Governor from 2011 to 2012 within District 6890 and is currently a member of New Tampa Rotary Club. Being a New Tampa resident for the last 15 years has afforded Rob the opportunity to connect heavily within the community. Rob is married to Amanda Montgomery and they have a son named, Andrew Montgomery. With that being said, Rob is very active within the local public schools, youth athletics, as well as his church. In his spare time, Rob thoroughly enjoys coaching his son’s 12U Baseball team.

Pilot Bank prides itself in maintaining Client Advocacy principles that are used to relate to their clients and exceed their expectations in going above and beyond to further their interests. Rob shares why he chose Pilot Bank,

“It was an easy choice to come work for Pilot Bank, when it was explained to me that Pilot Bank was a champion for Customer Advocacy. This has been my philosophy throughout my banking career and it will always continue. This is what clearly separates Pilot Bank from other banks and how we gain clients who are disenchanted with the larger institutions.”

Because Pilot Bank seeks mutually beneficial relationships with individuals, their families, and their businesses, Rob’s 25 years in experience and substantial involvement within the community helps to create a bridge that benefits their clients.
