Getting to Know Evolve Personal Health: Concierge Medicine & More

Tampa’s concierge medicine market became a little more unique this past Fall. New York transplants Chitra Prasad-Patel and Dr. Vim Patel, MD. decided that the Tampa Bay area needed a new approach to concierge medicine. Evolve Personal Health offers primary care, nutritional coaching, yoga, meditation, and introspective counseling.

Chitra describes Evolve as a multi-faceted, comprehensive doctor’s office, where physical health is connected to both nutrition and mental health. This makes Evolve Personal Health a one-stop shop for overall well-being. They offer 3 different year-long packages – The Explorer Plan, The Guided Tour, and The Individual Journey. If you aren’t quite ready to jump into one of these options, they offer “A Day at Evolve”. This trial day involves a hands-on look at each of Evolve’s services. It starts with a one-hour physical evaluation with Dr. Vim Patel. Next, Nutritional Coach Dawn Hans learns about your nutrition goals and creates a personalized assessment in a one-hour session. After that, Chitra Prasad-Patel provides an hour of introspective counseling – a unique service offered by Evolve, which is life coaching inspired by philosophies derived from meditation. During the final hour, you receive a massage from a therapist who has partnered with Evolve to offer services in-house. If there is a yoga or meditation class the night of your visit, you are invited to join.

“When putting together a formula for happiness, one of the things you may ask yourself is how you can contribute to humanity. What is the purpose of what you’re doing?” says Chitra, as she describes what goes on during an introspective counseling session. Chitra encourages patients to be socially and mentally conscious of their surroundings. Sessions are truly guided by what the patient needs or wants at the time.

Both Chitra and her husband, Vim, are supporters of the Red Sand Project, a NY-based art activism project which raises awareness for human trafficking. They are also involved in local community groups and enjoy organizing events such as 5k runs. Evolve Personal Health will soon be hosting a family meditation/mindfulness program in downtown Tampa.

Evolve Personal Health has pioneered concierge medicine by providing primary care, physical activity, nutritional health, and mental wellness all in one place. They are open Monday through Friday from 7am-7pm, and are available for special request appointments. Now whenever a patient tells someone where they’re going, they can say, “I am going to Evolve.”
