Aakash Patel, President of Elevate, Inc was the featured guest on The Dr. Jamie Show hosted by the bright and bubbly mental health counselor, Dr. Jamie Kulaga. The show airs every Friday morning at 9:30am and it showcases her knowledge via Facebook Live and Bidchat. Dr. Jaime gives viewers weekly advice ranging from personal to business topics, but she promises to never discuss politics, calculus, or technology.

Aakash was asked a variety of questions from Dr. Jaime and her viewers. To start, they discussed how to get involved in a new community as an entrepreneur. Viewers learned that business community involvement can be as simple as joining the local Chamber of Commerce or getting a membership to club to network and provide a space for your team.

Next, they discussed the trials and tribulations of networking. Aakash mentioned some tips to avoid networking burnout including arriving early, thanking the organizer and sponsor, not talking to the person that you came with in order to meet new people and not being afraid to break the ice. He stressed that exchanging business cards is the first step to building a professional and strategic partnership. Dr. Kulaga’s tip for remembering individuals from a stack of business cards was to fold the corner of the card reminding her that that was someone to explore a potential partnership with.

Later, Aakash was asked what the biggest mistakes of his career were. To that he responded social media.
