Tampa based healthcare technology company Ecover Global had a successful second annual cancer charity event, HalaBEAT Cancer banquet. This year dozens of local philanthropists and medical professionals donated with all proceeds going to AdventHealth Carrollwood Foundation’s Breast Cancer Committee. The event this year gave people the opportunity to attend the banquet in person, or offer a donation by purchasing a ticket or donating via the website: www.halabeatbanquet.com
This event was inspired by Ecover Global’s CEO Ben Sever’s close friend and advisor, Lauren Halabi, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 at age 29. Sever saw an opportunity to help Halabi and began organizing the first ever HalaBEAT Cancer banquet. Sever first hosted the banquet summer 2019 where all proceeds went directly to Halabi’s medical expenses. The event was a massive success! Ecover Global found the event so rewarding that the team decided to make it annual.
We asked Ecover Global CEO Ben Sever why he felt it is important to continue to support this event and he told us, “When I first hosted this event last year, it was to cover the medical expenses of someone I highly admire and respect. It was a close group of friends and advisors, getting together with a purposeful goal. It was more successful than we could have hoped for, so when the anniversary came up this year it felt like a fiduciary responsibility to continue to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. Now that I am on the AdventHealth Carrollwood’s Board, donating the proceeds to their Breast Cancer Committee was the perfect fit this year.” Ecover Global is heavily involved in giving back to the Tampa Bay community and continues to go over and above to #ElevateTampa.
